Larry's Guns supports the competitive pistol shooting community by specializing in sales, service and testing of high quality target pistols and ammunition. Larry's is a full warranty service center for Hammerli products and has the largest inventory of Hammerli guns and parts in the United States. In addition to sales and service for the Hämmerli line, Larry's imports and services Benelli target pistols and services all makes and models of target guns. This ranges from adjusting the trigger on a Free Pistol to machine testing. Larry's is also a distributor of UltraDot optics, Carroll cast bullets, Knapp accessories, and Wolff Gunsprings.

Larry's Guns is growing! Larry's Guns has the following position opening for a full-time Master Gunsmith in our warranty service and design/prototyping department.

POSITION:

Master Gunsmith - Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Repair and modify firearms - specifically, Hämmerli, Benelli, and other competitive target pistols, rifles, and airguns - according to factory blueprints and customer specifications. Assist in the design and prototyping of new firearms, parts, and accessories.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten years of experience as a full-time gunsmith or gunsmith apprentice.
  • Four years of concentrated experience building and servicing Hämmerli pistols and rifles, including airguns.
  • Must be able to read and translate Swiss/German blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to correctly design and fabricate tools, testing equipment, and prototype parts and accessories for guns according to blueprint or customer specifications, using hand tools and machines.
  • Ability to identify and appropriately utilize basic processes and techniques as they apply to making, designing, or modifying gun parts.
  • Proficiency in appropriately utilizing and operating industry-specific machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, planers, electric buffing machines, boring machines, and broaching machines.
  • Ability to properly diagnose firearm malfunctions and to determine best methods of repair.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge and application of plan development and details, such as bullet-flight arcs, projectile velocities, and sight positions - to design new firearms, parts, and/or accessories.
  • Must be able to teach, supervise, and oversee quality control for apprentice gunsmiths.
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer skills for the purposes of keeping inventory records and tracking work via computer.
  • Excellent customer service and oral communication skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relocation to Maine, USA required.
  • Must be willing to travel to competitions throughout the United States and possibly Canada.
